Senior Physician Medical Director
Gary Gansar, MD, is residency-trained in general surgery. He previously served as Chief of Surgery and Staff at Elmwood Medical Center and on the Medical Executive Committee at Touro Infirmary and Mercy Hospital in New Orleans, LA. Dr. Gansar also served as Clinical Instructor and Professor of Surgery at Tulane University. Dr. Gansar was Board Certified in general surgery while in active practice.
Dr. Gansar received his MD Tulane University Medical School, where he served as Chief Resident. He joined AMFS as a consulting medical expert in 2011 and has served as an AMFS Physician Medical Director since 2015.

Physician Medical Director
Alain Ades, MD, graduated from Williams College with degrees in biology and history. After attending Boston University School of Medicine, Dr. Ades completed an internal medicine residency at the University of California, Los Angeles Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He was awarded the Rigler Award for Outstanding Resident at UCLA. Dr. Ades is Board Certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology.
After a Chief Residency year, Dr. Ades completed a gastroenterology fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco, where he was appointed to the faculty. Dr. Ades served as Chief of Medicine and Director of Endoscopy at Exeter Hospital, Instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School and a staff member at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
Dr. Ades has extensive experience in providing expert witness testimony to both defense and plaintiffs attorneys. He has authored multiple articles on endoscopic interventions for esophageal reflux and liver transplant.
